District Three Governmental Cooperative is an agency owned and operated by its member local governments for the benefit of the citizens of Bland, Carroll, Grayson, Smyth, Washington and Wythe counties, and the cities of Bristol and Galax, Virginia.
We are dedicated to improving the quality of life for our citizens, especially those who are elderly and those who need assistance with transportation. While some of our services are available to all citizens, we focus on serving those people who need us most. Our services are designed to help our citizens to live independently and productively as long as possible. We promote self-sufficiency and family care-giving.
Our funding comes from state and federal grants, local governments, United Way chapters, other donor organizations, and from individuals, including those whom we serve. We operate a number of field offices throughout the district and our main office is at 4453 Lee Highway in Marion, Virginia.
